Quilt Walk — Demanding Justice for Native Women and Children

On December 7, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST, hundreds of supporters will rally on the steps of the United States Supreme Court as oral arguments begin in Dollar General Corporation v. Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, a case that threatens the safety of Native women and children nationwide.

Update: Five Year Anniversary of the US Endorsement of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

Dec. 16, 2015 marks the fifth anniversary of the U.S. announcement of its support for the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Since 2010, tribal leaders have been working vigorously to implement the UN Declaration at all levels which includes law and policy reform, changes in administrative practices, and long-term efforts to correct conditions that impede tribal development or that undermine tribes’ right to self-determination, cultural rights, and resource rights.

New Website Launch!

It’s here!  The Indian Law Resource Center web site recently underwent a major upgrade to give it a fresh new look and make it easier to use.  We’ve added features to make the content easier to find such as “Issues” and “Project” sections.  We’ve also added social media tools to make it easier for you to tweet and post stories to all of your friends. One of the biggest improvements is the ability of the site to be viewed on any device, no matter the screen size.  Check it out!
