Informal Consultation on the Zero Draft Conference Outcome Document

On July 16, the President of the General Assembly held informal consultations regarding the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples. The consultation focused on the zero draft outcome document. The Indian Law Resource Center and other indigenous leaders participated in these hearings, making suggestions for improvements. Executive Director Robert T. Coulter said of the zero draft outcome document: "Unless it is changed, unless it is more action-oriented, unless it includes more decisions or concrete commitments to actual action, it would be unsatisfactory...as an outcome document to this conference."
