Esénia Bañuelos is Wixárika from Zacatecas, Mexico. She recently received a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Bryn Mawr College, publishing a thesis on the impact of community-informed language technology for sustained multilingualism in Valley Zapotec communities. She is currently working as an Early Childhood language specialist with supports for Indigenous students in Chicago. She is especially excited to navigate archival practice through work with the Indian Law Resource Center.
