Ximena Itan Dehui Reyes Torres

Ximena is a rising 3L at American University, Washington College of Law and is originally from Teotihuacán, México. She is the incoming Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Book Editor on the American University International Law Review and is a member of the National Lawyers Guild, the Latin American Law Student Association, and the Native American Law Student Association.

During her 1L summer and prior to attending law school she worked on litigation teams representing Indigenous people in Colombia, Mozambique, and the Brazilian Amazon in human rights and environmental suits against corporate and state actors. She’s been a long-distance runner since middle school and enjoys learning Indigenous languages.
