Miranda Carman

Project Operations Manager, Indigenous Lands Initiative

Raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Miranda Carman has lived in the D.C. region for over a decade. Currently, Miranda is the Project Operations Manager for the Center's Indigenous Lands Initiative Project. In this role, she leverages her knowledge of Mexico and Central and South America and international human rights systems and procedures in the defense and protection of Indigenous land rights. Prior to this role, Miranda served as the Center's Program and Administrative Assistant.

Miranda holds a bachelor's degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of New Mexico and a master's degree in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Human Rights and Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University. Miranda is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, creative writing, and extreme sports.
